"The State Property Assessment Appeal Board is an outstanding resource for all Iowans who are unhappy with their local board of review's action" said Ed Wallace, President of the Iowa Taxpayers Association.
The Iowa Legislature in 2005 created the statewide Property Assessment Appeal Board with the help of the Iowa Taxpayers Association to address appeals of agricultural, residential, commercial and industrial property assessment, when property owners or other parties have protested with the local board of review and are not satisfied with their decision.
"The board is made up of three outstanding tax professionals who have experience in state and local tax matters" Wallace said.
The Iowa Property Assessment Appeal Board is made up of the following individuals:
D. Kevin Burggraaf, M.S., MAI, CAE, Deputy Polk County Assessor;
Jacqueline Rypma, Administrative Law Judge with the Department of Corrections at Mitchellville
Dick Stradley, Property Tax Administrator, Iowa Department of Revenue
If you have any questions about the appeal process feel free to call the Board at 515-725-0338 or Ed Wallace at the Iowa Taxpayers Association at (515) 243-0300.
