Linda S Weindruch Award

The Linda S Weindruch Award recognizes outstanding accomplishments and contributions in promoting and protecting the principles and policies of fair business taxation.
 
The Iowa Taxpayers Association offers the award in memory and in recognition of Linda S Weindruch who passed away after a long battle with multiple sclerosis in October 2004. The award is presented at the Annual Tax Symposium.
 
Linda was an active, long-time member of the Iowa Taxpayers Association. She was elected to serve on its Board of Directors in 1994, serving ten active years. She was a tremendous friend of Iowa business and worked diligently to develop and shape legislative and regulatory policy that supported sound taxation principles.

Award Criteria

  • The person being nominated should meet all the criteria items below.
    Has demonstrated his or her commitment to the principles of fair business taxation
  • Comes from the private or public sectors and may or may not be currently active in their positions for which their nomination is being submitted for
  • Their actions must have resulted in a positive impact on the business tax climate in Iowa
  • Has achieved recognition through the attributes that epitomized Linda - Advocacy, Leadership, Fairness and Strong Moral Compass

2023 LINDA S WEINDRUCH AWARD - MICHAEL C RUBINO


Mike Rubino is the Director – Global Indirect Tax for Deere & Company. Mike is entering his 45th year of employment at John Deere with 33 of those years in the corporate tax department located in Moline, Illinois. Mike has held positions in International, Federal and State tax during this time. Mike’s state tax responsibilities include property tax, unclaimed property, sales, tax accounting, tax legislation and business incentives. Mike obtained his undergraduate degree in accounting from Augustana College in Rock Island and his MBA from the University of Iowa. 


Mike is a long time ITA Board of Directors member, Executive Committee member and committee chair of the Sales & Use Tax Committee.
